Welcome to South Regional librarys "one walk to rule them all" walking challenge!
How it works:
|
Frodo and Sam traveled approximately 1,779 miles from the Shire to Mordor. Of course we won't ask you to walk over 1,000 miles, so we've averaged the mileage down to approximately 250 miles over the course of three months. This is how it works:
The program runs from September 1st to November 30th. You can join at any time.
1. Pick up a tracker at the South Regional Library. You can also have a printable PDF emailed to you if you prefer. (Please email Jessica to have one emailed to you)
2. Keep track of your physical activity every day and convert that into miles. Physical activity can include walking, running, swimming, bicycling, rollerblading...if it makes you move forward, it counts!
3. When you've completed enough miles to reach one of the goals, bring your tracker in to claim your completion button.
4. Complete at least one goal by November 30th and bring your tracker to the South Regional Library to be entered into the final prize drawing.
You MUST have a tracker to claim any of the buttons or be entered in the final prize drawing.

Join us on October 15th @ 11 am at the South Regional Library for "Second Breakfast." Let's celebrate the mid-point of the challenge with food and a viewing of the animated "Lord of the Rings" movie! Registration will open on September 15th.
